The first half of December 2010

This December has already been packed full of activities, and we aren't even at Christmas yet! Check out all our December fun below!

A neighborhood in Brea has an amazing show of Christmas lights that is quickly becoming a tradition with the Rosa family. We (thankfully) went early in the month and early in the evening and got there in time to find parking. We walked through approximately half of the streets while the kids oohed and ahhed over the whole thing. Meanwhile - Brian and Larry considered adding to their own Christmas light displays at home!

After getting back from Scotsdale, we let the kids take a nap, and then we went and picked out our Christmas tree this year. I originally didn't think it was a good idea since Leo can destroy anything he touches, and our house seems to be shrinking in size, but once we got it home, it was so beautiful to have in our little house. Leo and Zoey love it, and they (so far) have only destroyed 1 ornament! There was a little bit of drama during the tree trimming... Zoey, being tired from a day of traveling, on two occasions melted down and screamed, "Christmas is RUINED!" Thankfully, she was able to calm down enough to enjoy the tree after some water and reassurances from us. Brian made me promise that we get to have a REAL tree EVERY Christmas no matter what. Such a great tradition!

After planning for over SIX MONTHS - We finally got to go on our road trip with my college roommate and best friend Amy, and her family to Scotsdale Arizona. There wasn't anything in particular about Scotsdale other than the nice facilities and proximity that prompted the trip, but once we got there, we realized that it was the PERFECT fit for us and our families! Thankfully, Amy has married Steve, who is passionate about doing research to find perfect activities for us to do, so Brian and I didn't have to lift a mental finger in our vacation planning. Activities while we were there included playing at the resort's playground, swimming, a train station made for kids, a dairy farm for a hay ride and s'mores, old town Scotsdale, and a fun post office. We LOVED all the the time watching Leo and Zoey play with Ava and Mady. We LOVED the delicious food we got to eat, and we LOVED spending time with friends! Thanks to Amy and Steve and Mady and Ava for letting us crash their awesome vacation!

Christmas time at Disneyland is one of the most beautiful times to visit the amusement park. We love to take the kids to see the faux snow and the updated Small World ride. The castle is extra beautiful with the glistening snow and in spite of the crowds, we always have a great time!

I was busy on December 4th, so Brian took the kids to see their big cousin Dominic play his last soccer game of the season. We are so proud of him and how much he has grown!

On December 1st, we celebrated Grandma Mary's birthday by having a pizza dinner at Jamie's house. The kids had a blast tearing apart Dominic's room and the adults had a great time reading a book about awkward family photos! Happy Birthday Mary!
