Summer Vacation 2010!

Day 1 - Summer road trip this year started on Sunday July 11th. We got an early start and headed up to Handford to visit our friends Amy and Steve Farris, and their kids Sonora (almost 2) and Levi (5 months old). Amy and Steve made us a great lunch utilizing all local foods. Our kids had a blast tearing up their house and making a mess. It was a great visit and we can't wait until we see them again!

We pack up back in our rented van (thanks to Theresa's manager loan at Toyota) and head out to Clovis where we stayed the night at Homewood Suites. They have one bedroom suites that are perfect for families.



Day 2 - We heading out from Clovis to Yosemite at 8 AM. The trip was supposed to be 2 hours but took 3 as there was extensive road construction. The kids were getting pretty restless but were excited to make it to the camp site. We wasted no time and packed into the bus and took a trip over to Yosemite Village for lunch and then a short walk to Yosemite Falls. After the fantastic views of the falls we headed back to camp for some river time. Dinner was pizza at Curry Village and then we drove out to our hotel for the evening at Yosemite View lodge.

Day 6 - Heading home
We stopped in Fresno for breakfast and I picked this gem. BJ's Kountry Kitchen, the service and food was marginal, but I think that it was a perfect place for our ride home. -Brian
